What is this about?

The biggest problem with information today isn’t scarcity: it’s how to understand it. People can’t understand large blocks of data by themselves.

That’s why the ability to filter and transform that data into a visualization for your audience will be an essential skill for the future.

But automatically generating a chart through Excel isn’t enough: a badly designed data visualization can confuse people with more than just a block of data. We need to think about how to incorporate well-structured and good design principles.

That’s where Data-Informed Design comes into play. We need to understand the type of data out there and design better user experiences to incorporate and communicate that data to a wider audience.

And it’s something that I’m uniquely qualified to talk about. I’m a UX Designer with over a decade’s worth of experience and am the author of two books, Persuading with Data and Data-Informed UX Design, which focus on this exact subject.

What you’ll get

Each week, I’ll send out either free or paid articles that cover topics in UX Design, UX Research, Data Visualization, or Design communication. I’ll also include links to interesting articles, books, or other things that I’ve read.

Paid subscribers will get a 1-2 bonus articles a month, as well as additional visualizations and perhaps chapters of my new book or courses.

So join me on this journey to understand the perfect blend of Data and Design.
